The Tarabya British Schools, established with the vision of "raising global minded individuals" and receiving the acceptances from world universities for graduates this year as it is every year and this year, with the concert of Murat Boz, has made the graduation ceremonies which became traditional now. At the Grand Tarabya Hotel, which the gratuation ceremony has took place, important names of community and the business community attended for the night of their children's graduation.
The opening speech of the graduation ceremony which took place before the stage of Murat Boz was realized by TBS General Manager Janet Williams-İpek. Williams-Ipek, who shares her pride and happiness with all her graduates, continued as follows: "This year, TBS was awarded the prestigious Socrates Prize in the European ‘Excellence in Education’ category by the UK-based Academic Union Council thanks to its international standards, exemplary education management and teaching methods. The award ceremony will take place next month, and on your behalf, we will go to Switzerland to accept this award. I sincerely thank you for your faith and commitment to TBS. This prize has been made possible with you."
After Janet Williams-Ipek completed her speech, the founder of Tarabya British Schools, Mehmet Gültekin came to the stage. Mr. Gültekin continued his speech with the following words;
Because of the applied education in Turkish only, the graduates of the schools are having accreditation problems, we have founded the TBS with the vision of raising global minded individuals is aimed at training successful and confident students in every field. Although TBS is a boutique school, it is actually a huge world with students and teachers from 27 nations. A new breath in the Turkish education system."
For more than two years, the students of the Tarabya British Schools, continuing their support to the Guide Dogs Association, they have signed projects this year to fund the association and provide funding for more guidance dogs for the visually impaired. Within the scope of the project, a total of 15,000 TL collected in the fund-raising run by the students during the year were handed over to At.Nurdeniz Tuncer, Head of the Guide Dogs Association and Maggie Moore, wife of the British Ambassador Richard Moore by the head of TBS Student council, Aldin Muhic and Shahenaz Alotaishan.
At graduation ceremony on 3rd of June, Chris Gaunt, Head of the board of directors of British Chamber of Commerce Turkey, was invited to give their diplomas to graduate students who were accepted from the world's distinguished universities. He congratulated our graduates one by one in his speech as evidence of Turkey's rising value in education.
Lastly, we passed to the most enjoyable moment of the night that all guests are waiting for. Murat Boz, one of the most important pop stars of Turkey, got to the stage, which was prepared for him. Murat Boz, who gave a concert that all the guests enjoyed, celebrated all the students again and wished the continuation of their successes.
